Ingredients

Pudding Base
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.25 cups ice-cold water
  • 3.4 oz instant vanilla pudding mix
Cream & Layers
  • 3 cups heavy whipping cream 36% fat content
  • 12 oz Nilla Wafers
  • 4 cups sliced bananas approx. 5-6 medium bananas

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and ice-cold water. Pour instant pudding mix over the top and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  2. Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours (overnight is best) until firmly set.
  3. In a chilled bowl, beat heavy whipping cream on high speed until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Gently fold the pudding base into the whipped cream using a spatula until uniform.
  5. In a trifle dish, layer one-third of the cookies, one-third of the bananas, and one-third of the cream. Repeat the process two more times.
  6. Sprinkle crushed wafers on top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow cookies to soften.

Notes

Best enjoyed within 8 hours. Do not freeze, as it ruins the texture of the cream and oxidizes the bananas.
